However, surface water contains sediment, algae, leaves, and debris that can quickly damage pumps, valves, and nozzles. We protect every system with a proven two-stage approach: robust initial filtration right at the pickup point plus secondary filtration before the water reaches your zones.
The first line of defense happens directly at the water source. We install heavy-duty coarse self-cleaning intake screens in the lake or pond right at the pickup point.
These screens capture leaves, sticks, algae clumps, sediment, and larger debris before it can enter the pump, piping, or irrigation components. Designed for fluctuating water levels and the high organic loads typical of Midwest ponds and lakes, they are low-maintenance and often self-cleaning.
This primary stage at the source protects the pump and greatly reduces the load on downstream equipment. It works together with secondary filtration (see right) for complete system protection.
